1. Who we are
Unite Atelier is an events experience company curating luxury social and wellness gatherings in South Africa. This Privacy Policy is maintained by Unite Atelier and describes how we process your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

2. Information we collect
- Name and surname
- Email address
- Cellphone number
- Account credentials and session data required to sign you in securely
- Basic technical logs (request time, IP, user agent) for security and abuse prevention
3. Why we process your information
- Create and administer your Members Lounge account
- Give you first access, insider previews and priority bookings
- Send transactional communications relating to your membership and bookings
- Protect the service against fraud, abuse and unauthorised access
- Comply with our legal obligations
We rely on your consent (given when you sign up), the performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, and legal obligations as the lawful bases for processing.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with operators who help us run the service under written confidentiality and security obligations, including our cloud hosting and database provider. Where an operator processes your data outside South Africa, we ensure comparable protection as required by section 72 of POPIA.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your membership data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, your account is deactivated immediately and your personal information is permanently erased 30 days later. Certain records may be retained longer where required by law (for example, tax records).
6. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted transport (TLS), row-level access controls on our database, hashed passwords, and least-privilege administrative access. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure; we work continuously to protect your information.
7. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your information
- Object to, or withdraw consent for, certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa)

8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Children
The Members Lounge is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered members.
